From celebrity events and sporting venues to coffee festivals and consumer sampling. CoffeeB has arrived in the UK with one clear mission: to create a world beyond pods.

For over 30 years, the single-serve coffee market has been dominated by capsules and pods. Rather than improving the pod or changing its material, CoffeeB removes it entirely, replacing it with a coffee ball protected by a seaweed-based, water-soluble coating that is 100% garden compostable.

Within its first year, CoffeeB reached 200,000 households globally, proof that the world was ready for something better. The journey across the UK brings that energy to British consumers directly: through festivals, iconic sporting venues and a growing community of tastemakers and brand partners who believe the future of coffee has already arrived.

The CoffeeB UK Launch as Featured in The Grocer

CoffeeB's UK launch was featured by The Grocer as we officially introduced the world's first Coffee Ball system to UK consumers. Read that here.

The Journey Begins: Getting Britain to Take Notice

The Journey Across the UK did not begin in a boardroom. It began where coffee culture is lived, at the festivals, venues, and events that define how Britain eats, drinks and spends its time.

At the London Coffee Festival at The Truman Brewery, over 22,000 visitors came together to celebrate the UK's specialty coffee scene through tastings, barista demonstrations, and industry workshops. CoffeeB's presence put the Coffee Ball in the hands of the most passionate coffee lovers in the country, and what followed was exactly the kind of conversation a new category needs: curiosity, then interest, then the moment someone takes their first sip and realises that no pod was involved.

From there, the journey moved to Pub in the Park Marlow, where McFly and Craig David headlined and fourteen world-class restaurants served their best. The crowd was different, but the reaction was the same. Thousands of consumers who had never considered that their morning cup could come without a single piece of waste encountered the Coffee Ball for the first time and left thinking differently about what coffee can be.

That is the power of sampling at scale. It turns sceptics into converts, one ball at a time, and it set the tone for everything that followed.

Taking It to the Top: Sport, Prestige, and Shared Values

From the festival circuit, the journey moved into sport, and into partnerships that go deeper than a logo on a banner. CoffeeB sought out communities that share the same belief: that quality and doing things right are not competing priorities.

At the Centurion Club in Hertfordshire, one of the UK's most prestigious golf and dining destinations, CoffeeB put barista-quality coffee in the hands of an audience that knows exactly what premium looks and tastes like. No pods, no compromise, just great coffee in one of the country's finest settings.

The Padel Social Club brought a different energy entirely. Operating venues at Earls Court and The O2, it is one of the fastest-growing sports communities in the UK, attracting a new generation of active, socially minded consumers through professional exhibitions, celebrity matches, Run & Rally sessions, Supper Sessions, the Wilson Master Series, and corporate team-building days. As padel's following continues to grow, so does CoffeeB's connection to an audience that values quality, energy, and experiences worth sharing, on and off the court.

The partnership with Wilson Sporting Goods deepens that connection further, built on a shared "Protect Home Field" environmental framework committing both brands to net-zero emissions by 2050. Read about our luanch in The Grocer.

The People Who Got Behind It

A campaign of this scale needs voices that people trust, and CoffeeB found them across every corner of British culture.

Ne-Yo, Grammy-winning R&B artist and songwriter, brought global reach and cultural credibility. Danny Walters, best known as Keanu Taylor in EastEnders and for his appearances in Benidorm, is an Essex native who frequently takes part in gruelling charity races, connecting the brand to British popular culture and a broad consumer fanbase.

Si King, one half of The Hairy Bikers, brought culinary expertise and national-treasure appeal, having completed a personal UK theatre tour in 2025 that cemented his reputation as a champion of great-tasting, accessible food. Cyrus Todiwala, celebrity chef and owner of Café Spice Namasté, has been a vocal advocate for sustainability since the 1990s, making him a natural voice for CoffeeB's Great Taste, No Waste message.

Chris Bavin, BBC presenter and fruit expert, is working to build a national network for UK greengrocers. Danny Care, England rugby player, and Amy Tee brought the brand into the worlds of professional sport and modern lifestyle content.

Each one brought something different to the table, but all pointed in the same direction: forward. What unites them is a belief that great coffee can be better, and that the world is ready to move on from the pod.

What People Are Saying

The public response to CoffeeB in the UK and Ireland has been strongly positive. The brand holds a TrustScore of 4.8 out of 5 on Trustpilot (as of July 2026), built on reviews that return to the same themes again and again: taste, no waste and the unexpectedly enjoyable experience of using the machine.

Community reviewers have described the system as an "absolute win" for eco-conscious coffee drinkers. One consumer reported being "converted" after 13 years with another system. Others have highlighted the "guilt-free" experience and the ability to compost used coffee balls directly in the garden, with some using them as plant fertiliser.

Whether they started with our Espresso, reached for the Ristretto, or explored the Mixed Coffee Ball Pack to find their favourite, the response has been the same: they are not going back.

The tactile experience of using the machine has generated its own following. One reviewer noted that their children "fight to make the coffee" because they enjoy getting the ball rolling into the machine, the kind of feedback that speaks for itself.

Independent reviewers have added further detail. The Home Hums, a new-parents lifestyle channel, praised the Globe machine for its sleek, compact design, well-suited to small apartments, though they noted occasional brewing inconsistencies. Martin Jud, reviewing for Galaxus, awarded the Cosmos machine 4 out of 5 stars, highlighting its quietness and speed, with his primary critique being the selection of eleven coffee varieties. YouTube reviewers Tom's Do it Yourself described the coffee as "well balanced" with notes of bittersweet chocolate and fruit, while Kochen mit Genuss praised the crema produced by the 19-bar pressure system.

Built on Shared Conviction: The Purpose Behind the Partnerships

Behind every partnership on this journey sits the same question: does this organisation believe what we believe? In every case, the answer has been yes.

Wembley Stadium is delivering its "Playing for the Future" sustainability strategy, reducing the environmental impact of large-scale events at one of the world's most iconic venues. The Kia Oval is on course for Net Zero by 2030. Wilson Sporting Goods is working toward net-zero emissions by 2050 through its "Protect Home Field" framework. Meta's partnership with CoffeeB follows a clear host/guest co-branding approach, extending the brand's premium identity across global digital platforms.

None of these are badge partnerships. They are relationships built on a shared conviction that doing things properly and doing things sustainably are not competing ambitions. They are the same ambition, and that is exactly what CoffeeB was built on.

Why the Coffee Ball Has Won People Over

CoffeeB reached 200,000 households in its first year globally, and it is not difficult to see why.

The Coffee Balls are 100% garden compostable, with spent balls used directly as garden fertiliser. No capsule, no pod, no recycling programme. Just great coffee, and nothing left behind. From the bold intensity of the Café Royal Lungo Forte to the smooth finish of the Café Royal Decaffeinated, or the indulgent warmth of the Café Royal Caramel, every variety is designed to deliver a genuinely great cup.

The Swiss-engineered coffee machines use a 19-bar pressure system that independent reviewers have described as producing a rich crema and a well-balanced cup with notes of bittersweet chocolate, fruit, and apricot jam.

The carousel dispenser and lever mechanism have earned the kind of feedback every brand wants, with reviewers calling it "fun" to use. It is the difference between an appliance that sits on the counter and one that becomes part of the morning.

This Is Just the Beginning

CoffeeB launched in Switzerland, France, and Germany. It is now expanding into Italy and the United Arab Emirates, and has established a partnership with Keurig Dr Pepper to bring the system to the North American market.

R&D teams are continuously working to improve both the coffee blends and the machines, with long-term prospects including potential flavoured balls and tea options. The machines are designed with a circular approach, featuring modular parts that can be repaired at service points to extend their life, and the full range of accessories continues to expand alongside them.

The Founders Club brings together early adopters driving the No Pods Revolution forward. The Journey Across the UK is one chapter of a much longer story, changing the world one ball at a time.
